Now let’s talk about HIPPA…because that was also violated. When I called to check in on the patient before arriving, the charge nurse gave conformation that the patient was in the ER and disclosed medical information about the patient over the phone without even verifying who I was and checking with the patient herself first. This ER not only provides horrible patient care, it also has broken patient privacy laws. I hope Providence will see this and take action to improve their system of care.
We encountered two ER nurses the night my mother was admitted. They were the WORST and I mean worst- I wouldn’t wish these two on my enemy in need! I was most disappointed with the charge nurse. She argued with my mother and told her she had an IV drip… when she really didn’t…and after being told a numerous amount of times by my mother (the patient) that she only had a flush, the nurse got smart with her and tried to wave it off as semantics- when she herself had to go figure out the difference between an IV and a flush. Then when my ill mother said, “I thought when coming here I would receive better treatment than another hospital”, the nurse cut her off and said “well you’ll get a survey in the mail and you can feel free to fill it out”. That broke my heart because at that moment my ill mother wasn’t even in her room and was just starting her treatment with Providence. The nurse gave no thought to customer care, and she did not ensure that she was safe and in good hands-EVER. This added stress to her symptoms and did nothing but elevate her temperature.
I love this hospital I went on Friday ER and I stay there for 4days,oh my goodness I can't compare this hospital with any of the hospital i always go,everyone here doctors, nurses and everyone they we're so good to me,I can recommend this hospital to everybody, may the Lord bless this hospital
When you are having an emergency where do you go? The ER is the answer, but I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to ANYONE who is in need of medical attention. I wanted to run out of there! The ER nurses at Providence hospital are negligent, uncaring and honestly a disgrace to the medical field. They have no patience and no bedside manners what so ever. My mother sat in an empty ER waiting room after already being admitted for 3 hours, with multiple symptoms that unknowingly could have been life threatening. Proper test were not run on her to ensure what they had “assumed” to be wrong with her was correct. I say that because hours later she has not gotten any better and is sitting in discomfort in a hospital bed with an IV drip that keeps beeping because it was not administered correctly. Any and every thing she asks for takes a minimum of an hour to receive. Yes, I understand that there are other patients in need of care as well, so if the problem is lack of staff, Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI should fix it. Honestly in my heart I feel that it’s not the lack of staff, it’s a lack of dedication and compassion that the ER nurses lack. Let me tell you why…
This place sucks. Bad experience every time. I thought my ankle was broken, they took my shoe off and left my bare foot on the dirty floor and then left me there for like an hour. Then, another time when I drove my grandma to the ER I was inappropriately touched by the lady security guard at the ER who wanted to frisk me to go in with the patient. Then she threatened to have me banned from the hospital when I told her that she was behaving inappropriately. The final straw, after she let me in I was back in the receiving area and they had a patient on a bed in the hallway. The patient was getting louder by the moment, he said his leg was broken and he had been out there for almost three hours and hadn't seen anyone yet. He said he wasn't waiting anymore, he was going to drive himself to another hospital. The same security team was called, and they told him he wasn't going anywhere and to shut his mouth or they'd strap him to the bed. The guy tries to get up on the hurt leg, the two guards beat the piss out of him, slam him back on the bed, get restraints out and strap him to the bed and then get a muzzle thing and muzzle the guy. This place is Detroit AF
Great surgeon I had to replace heart valve and annerism of aortic. Great after care surgery. Staff cared about pain control and explained all I need to do after I left the hospital.
I had surgery today. Everyone in staff at this hospital was so nice and caring. Great staff !! Dr. Kolachalam and his team did really excellent job. I am glad that I chose this hospital. Hearty thanks to all.
